Crass: There is No Authority but YourselfA filmic portrait of this last Punk stonghold.
The anarchist punk band Crass was very different from their contemporaries. The Sex Pistols and The Clash sold their souls to big record labels, whereas Crass stayed true to their anti-corporate ideals. Crass still exists today as a commune just outside of London named 'Dial House'- a safe haven for those individuals of principle who still live by the old punk slogan 'Do it yourself'. Director
Alexander Oey (1960) has directed a large number of documentaries, mainly for the Dutch networks VPRO and NPS, such as 'My Life as a Terrorist: The Story of Hans - Joachim Klein' (2005), 'Euro-Islam according to Tariq Ramadan' (2005),'Bijlmer the Rough Guid' (2003) and 'Jeff Wall' (1999).
